Facial Rejuvenation

What is Facial Acupuncture Rejuvenation?

An “acu-facial” as I call it, is an all-natural, non-surgical beauty technique that naturally reduces the signs of aging. Beauty results from a healthy body, mind, and spirit. The primary focus of the treatment is the face, but the whole-body benefits, leaving you feeling rejuvenated and revitalized.

What are the Benefits of an Acu-Facial?

How does it work?

According to Chinese Medicine, Qi circulates throughout your body in a series of pathways called meridians. Qi provides nourishment, support, and energy to every cell, tissue, muscle, and organ in the body. As we age, poor diet, digestion, and circulation, as well as, emotional and environmental stressors compromise our Qi and its ability to flow upwards to “lift” and brighten the face.

Cosmetic acupuncture is a protocol that involves shallow needling at specific points so the tip of the needle goes into the dermal layer of the skin to stimulate the production of collagen, and needling into specific muscle to re-tone and relax those muscles.

Other Modalities

Microneedling uses an oscillating cartridge that inserts 12 very fine short needles into the skin. This non-surgical treatment creates thousands of micro-channels in the skin. This micro-trauma triggers the body’s natural wound healing process and causes the fibroblasts to induce collagen and elastin production.

This treatment can offer skin rejuvenation such as enhancing product absorption by 2000% and clinical treatment of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture, large pores, discolorations, acne and facial scars.

A series of 4 – 6 sessions are done at 4 week intervals to achieve maximum results. Maintenance may be done monthly or seasonally.

LED Light Therapy uses low-level light therapy to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by using wavelengths that are scientifically proven to stimulate fibroblasts to increase collagen and elastin formation.

Facial cupping and gua sha are gentle techniques used to massage the facial tissues to create circulation of blood and lymph.

Recommended Treatment Course

Acupuncture is cumulative. Each treatment builds on the last. Everyone will need a series of treatments to get the best results. A typical course of treatment is 1 to 2 times a week for 10 sessions, or until desired results are achieved. Then maintenance is suggested once a month as prevention, or as needed.

Other factors

Beauty begins on the inside, a healthy body and mind, is the first step towards beautiful skin. Healing is an internal process, it requires your full attention and involvement, therefore lifestyle changes and a nutritional program may be recommended on an individual basis so your inner beauty can radiate outward. Many patients report beneficial side effects from their cosmetic acupuncture treatments such as improved energy, sleep, digestion and overall well.
